Badoo Not Working? Login & App Troubleshooting
A 60-second triage to tell whether it's you or Badoo, then fixes for every common problem: can't log in, codes not arriving, account blocked, crashes, empty feed, messages not sending, web issues, and a full reset sequence.
When Badoo stops working it is usually one of a small number of things, and most of them are on your side of the screen and fixable in a couple of minutes: a stale app, a bad connection, a cache that needs clearing, a login method you've forgotten you used, or a permission that got switched off. Occasionally it is Badoo itself, and then the only fix is patience. This guide starts with a 60-second triage that tells you which it is, then works through the most common problems one at a time: can't log in, verification code never arrives, account blocked, the app crashes or won't load, nobody nearby, messages not sending, likes and Encounters not registering, and problems on the web version. It ends with a reset sequence that fixes most of what's left and a note on when to contact support.

60-second triage: is it you or Badoo?
On Wi-Fi? Turn it off and use mobile data, or the other way round. If Badoo comes back, the problem is your network (often a router, a captive portal, or a VPN).
Swipe the app away from recent apps, wait five seconds, reopen. This clears more one-off glitches than anything else.
Open the Play Store or App Store and search Badoo. If it says Update, do it; old versions get cut off from the servers after a while.
Open badoo.com in a browser and log in. If the web works and the app doesn't, it's the app install. If neither works, it's your account or Badoo's side.
A friend on a different network, or an outage tracker, tells you whether Badoo is down for everyone. If it is, wait an hour; nothing on your phone will fix it.

Can't log in to Badoo
Wrong details, wrong method, or a stuck session
Symptom: "incorrect password", "no account found", or the login screen loops back on itself.
- Work out how you signed up. Badoo accounts can be tied to a phone number, an email, Facebook, Google or Apple. Try each one you might have used; "no account found" almost always means the wrong method.
- Use Forgot password and check spam for the reset email. If you signed up with a phone number, request an SMS code instead.
- If the screen loops, clear the app cache (Android: Settings → Apps → Badoo → Storage → Clear cache) or reinstall (iPhone), then log in again.
- Logged in on the web but not the app, or vice versa? Log out of everything, wait a minute, log in on one device first.
If you get a message that the account is blocked, skip to account blocked. Verification code not arriving
SMS or email code never shows up
Symptom: you request a code, nothing arrives, or it arrives after it has expired.
- Wait two full minutes before requesting again; repeated requests can queue and invalidate each other.
- Check the number is correct, including the country code, and that the phone has signal and isn't blocking unknown senders or short codes.
- For email codes, check spam and promotions folders, and search your inbox for "Badoo".
- Switch method: if SMS fails, choose the call option or email; if email fails, use the phone number.
- Still nothing after several tries? Some carriers block bulk SMS; try a different number or contact support with your details.
Account blocked or banned
A block message means Badoo's moderation has acted on the account, usually after reports from other users or automated detection of behaviour that breaks the terms: photos that aren't you, being under 18, commercial or promotional use, abusive or sexual messages to people who didn't want them, mass-messaging identical text, or logging in from many locations in a short time (VPNs can trigger this). The app usually gives a reason and, for most blocks, an appeal option. Appeal through it with a short, calm, honest message; if the block was a mistake (a false report, a VPN false positive), say so and offer to verify. What doesn't work: making a new account with the same phone, email, photos or device, which is often linked and blocked again, sometimes permanently. App crashing, freezing or not loading

No one showing nearby, or the wrong city
People Nearby depends on location. If the grid is empty or full of people hundreds of kilometres away, check three things. First, that location is allowed for Badoo in your phone settings, ideally "while using the app", and that the phone's location service is on at all. Second, that no VPN, Travel mode or location-spoofing app is placing you somewhere else; VPNs are the most common reason for the wrong city, and they can also trip Badoo's fraud checks. Third, your filters: Settings → Who I want to see, with a distance and age range wide enough to include people. If all three are right and the grid is still thin, the pool where you are is small, which isn't a bug; widening distance and running a second app for a month usually answers it, and the relationship apps and casual and social apps categories rank the alternatives.
Messages, likes and Encounters not working
Messages that sit with a clock icon are waiting for a connection; switch networks and they'll send. Messages that send but never show as read may mean the other person blocked or deleted you, or simply hasn't opened the app; nothing to fix. If you can't start a chat at all, remember that free accounts have a daily limit on new conversations, and that Badoo sometimes requires photo verification before messaging, especially for new or reported accounts; verifying is the fastest fix and Badoo photo verification walks through it. In Encounters, if swipes don't register or the deck says there's nobody left, you've either hit the daily limit, run out of people inside your filters, or the app needs a restart; widen the filters and force-close. Likes that vanish are usually a display lag; pull down to refresh. Badoo on the web not working
The browser version at badoo.com has its own small set of problems. A blank page or endless spinner is usually an extension (ad blockers and privacy tools can break the chat and photo loading); try a private window with extensions off, or another browser. Login loops on the web are usually cookies: allow cookies for badoo.com and clear the site data, then log in again. Notifications need permission in the browser as well as in Badoo. And some corporate or school networks block dating sites entirely, which looks like an outage but isn't; try mobile data. The full reset sequence
When nothing above has helped, do all of these in order; it takes ten minutes and clears almost everything that isn't a block or an outage.
- Restart the phone.
- Update the phone's OS and Badoo.
- Free up at least 1 GB of storage.
- Turn off VPN, battery saver and data saver for Badoo.
- Check permissions: location, camera, photos, notifications.
- Clear cache (Android) or delete and reinstall (iPhone).
- Log in on one device only, with the original sign-up method.
- Test on mobile data and on Wi-Fi.
- Test the web version in a private window.
- Screenshot any error and contact support if it persists.
